The Scout Troop at 2nd Cuddington is for boys and girls aged from 10 to 14; it's our job to put the 'out' into Scouting by running a fun and diverse programme of activities.!

On entering the Troop, Scouts are placed into Patrols of 6 - 8 others. Each patrol has its own Patrol Leader (PL) and Assistant Patrol Leader (APL) who lead and motivate our younger members. An inter-Patrol points competition runs throughout the year with points being awarded for attendance, uniform and various activities.

Our weekly section meetings include a mix of games, award work and a mix of indoor and outdoor activities centered around the 6 programme zones set out by the Association.

Throughout the year we have a large number of additional activities some of which include:

  • Off road cycling weekends
  • Walking weekends
  • Water activity weekends
  • Backwoods camping weekends
  • Patrol leadership courses
  • The highlight of the year is our annual 'summer camp', which is a week long camp based in a different location each year. Recent destinations have included Rotterdam, the New Forest and Devon.

Moving into and out of the Scout Troop is made easy by the number of 'cross sectional' activities. Typically these may include helping on Beaver and Cub weekends, the Group St George's Day parade, and the Troop/Unit mountain walking weekend.
