Welcome to the 2nd Cuddington Explorer Scout Unit. Our section is for both males and females between 14 and 18.

With 35 Explorers now in the Unit we are one of the strongest in Surrey - our varied programme offering something for everyone. Over their four years in our section, young people aim to complete several awards - the Chief Scouts Diamond and Platinum awards, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the movements highest award - the Queens Scout Award.

Our weekly meetings are just a small part of our overall programme, but they include team building exercises, games and sports, guest speakers, night hikes, outdoor wide games and trips out to name but a few.

Throughout the year we also hold several small camps and larger expeditions. Weekends away include a winter 'frosties camp', survival weekends, 'Gilwell 24' and the mountain waling weekend. The highlight of the year is always the summer expedition, which in the past has taken us to places such as Holland, Switzerland, Canada, Cumbria and Dorset.

The Explorer Unit also aims to promote leadership skills amongst its members, with many taking part in the 'Young Leader' scheme working with younger sections.
