2nd Cuddington is part of the World Scout Organisation, the largest mixed youth movement in the world with 56 million members. Scouting has evolved massively since its inception by Lord Baden Powell in 1907, but our underlying principles have always remained the same.

The Scout Association provides adventurous activities and personal development for young people aged 6 - 25. Our work involves promoting the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of all our young people. Throughout our sections we have adopted a strong anti-bullying policy which can be found here.

At 2nd Cuddington, our programme is delivered in our five mixed training sections:

Beavers, 6 - 8

Cubs, 8 - 10

Scouts, 10 - 14

Explorer Scouts, 14 - 18

Scout Network, 18 - 25

You can find out more about each of our sections by using the links above.

Scouting is a voluntary organisation and as such, all the adults involved at 2nd Cuddington are unpaid.

The Group is run by a Group Scout Leader, who manages each of the five Section Leaders. Our Section Leaders are assisted by Assistant Leaders, Instructors and Explorer Scout Young Leaders. All of the Leaders at 2nd Cuddington undertake a continuous modular training scheme enabling us to meet the demands of young people today - this also includes full First Aid training. We are also lucky enough to have an 'in-house' team of PCV qualified coach drivers who undertake regular medical examinations.

Managing the 'business affairs' of the Group we have a Group Chairman, who works closely alongside the Group Treasurer and the Chairpersons of our Sub-Committees. The Group Executive Committee is made up of members of the Leader Team and parent representatives from each Section.

To support the Group we also have a:

Supporters Sub-Committee - who raise money for the Group and organise its' social functions.

Maintenance Sub-Committee - who look after the maintenance of the building and grounds.

Service Team - who provide manpower to specific Group events.

Do consider how you can best support us - have a look at 'The Team' page for contact details!
